Ford Campbell heads to Spinningfields

CORPORATE finance specialist Ford Campbell is the latest professional services firm to sign up for Manchester’s Spinningfields district.

The firm is taking more than 10,000 sq ft on the vacant second floor  at 3 Hardman Square.  The rest of the building is occupied by law firm Halliwells.

Ford Campbell founder Tony Ford said the move out of City Wharf on New Bailey Street, Salford, reflects the firm’s growth plans and the quality of new clients it is attracting, including North West quoted companies.

In the last few months the firm has completed a number of deals including advising Lancashire’s Daisy Group  on its £7m acquisition of ATC, a £15m restructuring of a property group, and advising Union Colours on the acquisition of European Colours’ technical centre.

The move is scheduled to complete on December 20.

The £1.5bn Spinningfields development is home to a number of the region’s professional firms including Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of New York Mellon, Deloitte, Barclays, Grant Thornton, BDO, Baker Tilly and PKF.

Mr Ford said: “Ford Campbell has been in Manchester for more than a decade, and the move to 3 Hardman Square demonstrates our commitment to our clients and the region.

“It is a fantastic office in the heart of the city’s financial district and provides an excellent platform from which to fulfil our growth ambitions.”

Pam McKay, partner at Halliwells, added: “We are delighted to have sub let the vacant second floor  at 3 Hardman Square and would like to welcome Ford Campbell to Spinningfields.”

Ford Campbell will be Halliwells’ second sub-let tenant at 3 Hardman Square with Ecclesiastical also having taken on 5,000 sq ft earlier this year.
