Rising stars to the fore at JMW & PwC

LAW firm JMW and business advisers PwC are looking to the future by recruiting and promoting young talent.

Manchester-based JWM has hired entrepreneurial trio Tasnim Khalid, Sam Hall and Debbie Rainford, and says their skills and experience in business development were ket to their recruitment.

Tasnim Khaild joins the private client department from city rival George Davies. She specialises in all areas of wills, trust and tax planning but especially Shariah law. 

Sam Hall joins the family department from Mills & Reeve LLP Manchester and specialises in all areas of family law in particular focusing on financial settlements on divorce and future arrangements for children.

Among other initiatives Sam has commenced work on the development of a dedicated divorce app for iPhones and JMW will be launching this very soon through iTunes and other platforms.  He is a board member of both Young Resolution (Manchester) and Future Pro Manchester.

Debbie Rainford is the well-known President of JCI Manchester and joins from Ralli Solicitors. Debbie specialises in IP litigation which is a growing area for JMW. Managing partner Bill Jones said: “Sam, Debbie and Tasnim bring with them a great deal of enthusiasm, energy and business acumen which will add to the ever growing team at JMW.

“We look forward to working with these young talents and helping them develop in their chosen specialities.” 

PwC has meanwhile promoted four new directors, Syedul Hussain, Jonathan Haigh, Rachel McIlwraith and Simon White.

The firm’s Manchester office has more than 700 staff, including 30 partners and now 38 directors.

The new directors have an extensive range of sector experience and expertise and will be starting their new roles today. (July 1)

Syedul Hussain is promoted within the Transaction Services team, Jonathan Haigh’s new role is national and will support the real estate team, Rachel McIlwraith is a member of the firm’s government and public sector team in the North West.

Simon White is transferring from London to the North West from 1 July. He has 12 years of experience serving retail and consumer and building and construction clients – both listed and privately owned.
