Brewer Robinson on song with Elbow

NORTH West brewer Frederic Robinson is to produce a limited edition beer for the popular band Elbow.
The brew, named after the Manchester band’s latest album ‘build a rocket boys!’ will be launched in the autumn at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.
The real ale, described as a “golden premium session bitter” has been brewed to Elbow’s specifications after a series of tastings at the Stockport based brewery.
It will be available in selected pubs across Robinson’s 400-strong estate in September and October.
Established in 1838 and owned by the Robinson family, Frederic Robinson, recently signed a five-year deal to supply St Helens Rugby League Club’s new 18.000 capacity stadium.
The company has a turnover of more than £55m and is investing in a £4m in its Unicorn brewery in the heart of Stockport, which includes a new brew house and a £1m visitor centre.
Brands manager John Robinson said: “We are really excited – we were approached by Elbow, who are pretty big real ale fans, as they wanted to use the beer to help promote a single in October, it was something we were keen to do and we’ve taken it on from there.
“Depending on demand for the cask product we could look to do some bottled product for our website and Elbows’ too.”
