MediaCity strikes sponsorship deal with Salford City Reds

RUGBY league side Salford City Reds has signed a sponsorship deal with MediaCityUK.
It will carry the MediaCityUK logo on its shirts from the start of the 2012 season and throughout the new £26m stadium that is being built at Barton.
The stadium project is a joint venture between Salford City Council and Peel Holdings, the property group that is also developing MediaCityUK at Salford Quays.
The club’s chief executive David Tarry said: “There should be no doubt that this is a major coup, not only for Salford City Reds, but also the wider game of rugby league.
“MediaCityUK is world-renowned and to have them on board is a great achievement for all concerned. This gives us as a club and the game great opportunities at a critical time in our development.”
Managing director of MediaCityUK, Stephen Wild, said: “MediaCityUK and The Peel Group are thrilled to be supporting the Salford City Reds – a Super League team with roots firmly embedded in Salford.
“Our sponsorship comes as MediaCityUK springs to life and as work continues on the Reds’ new home, the City of Salford Community Stadium. We look forward to working with everyone at the club and building a strong partnership.”
Earlier the joint venture company running the new stadium appointed James Foley as stadium director.
Foley, who was previously operations director for Link4Life – a leisure, sports and culture initiative run by Rochdale Council – will be responsible for day-to-day operations, marketing and finances at the venue.
