Debenhams to re-fit Fishergate unit

DEBENHAMS has announced that it is to refit its Preston outlet within Warner Estates’ Fishergate Shopping Centre.

The unit is one of 20 being refitted by the department store giant in a move which will see a further 600 jobs being created nationwide, according to the retailer.

Beverley Wilkes, the Store Manager at Debenhams adds: “It’s great news for Preston and all the staff and shoppers at Debenhams. Not only will the refit create around 30 new jobs, but customers can look forward to a brand new beauty hall and a modernised restaurant.”

Warner Estates’ senior asset manager Rebecca Young said: “The fact that Fishergate has been chosen as part of the Debenhams refurbishment scheme reinforces the retailer’s continued commitment to the centre.”

Warner Estates has also let one of the kiosks in the centre to Deepdale Optical Centre.

Young added: “We are proud to be the choice for retailers looking to open in Preston City Centre and are glad to welcome Deepdale Optical to our shopping centre, as they prepare to open in the coming weeks.”
