Enza keeps on trucking

ENZA Motors trebled its profits to £1.2m in 2010 as it achieved top-line sales growth of 5.6% to £68.7m.

The company, which operates Mercedes Benz truck dealerships at Warrington, east Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and Trafford Park, said that its results had been “particularly pleasing given the fragile nature of the UK economy”.

Warrington-based Enza Motors is owned by directors Roy Reed, Russell Elgar and Steve Fox, who completed a management buy-out of the business in 2006.

A directors’ report accompanying the accounts said that the company’s truck sales and used vehicle sales divisions both enjoyed a much stronger performance in 2010, although van sales remained challenging.

“After sales revenues showed continued signs of recovery, and looks set to continue,” it said.

“Our focus on costs remains high on the agenda for the whole of 2011, with the business prepared to meet any difficult challenges.”

The amount of pay received by the firm’s four directors during the year dropped from £245,000 to £153,000, but the three shareholding directors also shared a dividend of £192,000.
