Byotrol shares surge 87% on Rentokil deal

BYOTROL, the Manchester-based infection control products company, has signed a four-year deal with Rentokil to provide its technology to the Initial Hygiene contract cleaning business.

The news sent shares in the company rocketing, surging 87.5% from 8p to 15p.

The “potentially transformational” deal covers a range of products used by Initial, such as hand hygiene and surface sanitisation products, and will be used by the company in 16 European countries.

Byotrol said the deal “represents a landmark commercial milestone” for its business. Initial will begin a rollout of Byotrol-based products in the fourth quarter of this year.

Byotrol CEO Gary Millar said: “Our strategy of working with specialist service suppliers and distributors is borne out by this significant contract.

“The endorsement of the Byotrol technology by the Initial Hygiene division of Rentokil is tremendously exciting, and will transform the way Byotrol’s technology is recognised in the hygiene industry.

“Additionally, Rentokil’s ability to deploy the technology into wider markets will significantly extend the number of those brought into contact with Byotrol.”

Peter Slator, business manager of Rentokil’s Initial Hygiene business unit, added:  “Our new range of surface and hand hygiene products, powered by Byotrol’s unique technology, will be a valuable element in achieving Initial’s objective of ‘Raising Hygiene Standards’ throughout our customers’ organisations.”
