Hill Dicks breaks £100m barrier

LAW firm Hill Dickinson has reported a 14.9% increase in revenue to £100.1m for the year to April 30.

The firm, which took on the Liverpool and Sheffield operations of collapsed law firm Halliwells in June 2010, said that the deal had “significantly” enhanced its commercial operations. The firm’s Manchester office also reported a 7.5% increase in fee income.

Net profit at the 201-year-old Liverpool-based firm, which has offices in Chester, London, Greence and Singapore as well as Manchester and Sheffield, rose 6.6% to £14.4m.

Managing partner, Peter Jackson, said: ”It has been a positive year for the firm. We have performed well across the board and are particularly pleased to see increased activity on the corporate side, with our team having grown significantly.

“We now look forward to another year of growth and to exploiting the business development opportunities that are on offer to us as a larger firm with enhanced commercial capabilities.”

The head of the firm’s Manchester office, Geraldine Ryan, added: “These results are a reflection of the weight of expertise available to clients out of our Manchester office.

“We are now building upon our success and are continuing to expand our commercial and corporate base in the region.”
