Widnes waste firm spends £4m on expansion

WSR Recycling is to spend £4m doubling the size of its Widnes base in a bid to double capacity.
The firm said that the investment will take place over the next nine months, leading to 40 new jobs being created and an ability to handle more than 200,000 tonnes of waste.
Mark Trousdale, managing director of WSR Recycling, said: “Having seen an increase in demand for specialist and sophisticated waste processing operations, we’ve committed to investment in this area and will continue to develop these services in line with customer needs.
“It’s an exciting time for the company and we are extremely pleased with the progression we are making against the backdrop of a difficult economic climate. The investment – and the job creation – make an excellent success story for Merseyside and Cheshire.”
