Speedy names new FD

SPEEDY Hire has appointed former John Laing finance director Lynn Krige as its new FD.

South Africa-born Krige will take over from Justin Read, who is leaving Newton-le-Willows based Speedy to join Segro plc, from October 1.

She spent 12 years with construction group Laing and started her career at Deloitte in South Africa after qualifying as a chartered accountant.

Read leaves on August 26 and in the interim period before his successor starts Speedy’s financial controller Ian Scapens will assume responsibility for all finance functions.

Steve Corcoran, Speedy’s chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Lynn to the board. Her experience will be most valuable and we look forward to her input as the company continues its growth.
