Three Cheshire Jaeger outlets targeted for closure

Administrators of luxury clothing brand Jaegar are to close stores at Cheshire Oaks, Chester and Wilmslow.

They are among 19 outlets across the UK to close, a statement from Ryan Grant and Catherine Williamson, of business advisory firm AlixPartners Services, who were appointed on April 10.

Some 44 redundancies have been announced across the company, including 32 at its head office in London and 12 its distribution function.

Staff at the doomed stores – a total of 31 at the Cheshire stores – will continue paid during the closure process, AlixPartners said.

It also said: “We would also like to inform all customers that gift cards continue to be honoured at Jaeger stores and that customers statutory rights remain unaffected.”

Its statement went on: “We appreciate that this is a particularly unsettling time for all concerned and would like to go on record to express thanks for the commitment and professionalism shown to date by Jaeger staff.”
