Home cleaning firm swallowed by £1.2bn trade service group

Manchester-based home cleaning company Bright & Beautiful has been acquired by The Dwyer Group, one of the world’s largest parent companies of trade service brands.

The deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, marks the ninth acquisition for Dwyer in the last few years and grows the organisation to £1.2bn in sales.

Bright & Beautiful offers residential cleaning services, providing eco-friendly cleaning, laundry and tidying assistance.

What began as a vision for an ethical, friendly and professional homecare business by founder Rachel Ray has grown over the last 10 years into a system of more than 50 franchisees, employing 700-plus employees.

“We are delighted to join one of the most powerful organisations in the industry,” said Ray. “Our franchise network and clients will benefit from Dwyer Group’s vast expertise and extensive resources in the service sector, enabling us to expand across the U.K. and beyond.”

Dwyer Group now has 15 franchise brands with more than 2,800 franchisees across service brands and a record 600-plus employees throughout North America, U.K. and Germany.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bright & Beautiful to the Dwyer Group family of brands,” said Mike Bidwell, president and chief executive  of Dwyer Group. “This addition helps Dwyer Group diversify our brand presence in the UK, taking us one step closer to offering a comprehensive residential and commercial service line-up to our customers.”
