Blackpool hotel changes hands for nearly £600K

The Henson Hotel

The Henson Hotel in Blackpool has been acquired by PM Group of Hotels Ltd from a guide price of almost £600,000 from its owners David and Susan Jones.

PM Group has a hotel portfolio spanning the UK, India, the Caribbean and North Africa and boasts expertise in property management, accommodation services, revenue management and online distribution.

The acquisition of the Henson Hotel is the group’s first site in the town.

PM Group director Tim Teo said: “We are delighted to open our portfolio in Blackpool starting with the Henson Hotel.

“The Henson is a landmark for us, we currently have 400 hotels under revenue management but we have plans to add many more properties under the direct management model which we believe will give our portfolio a better balance.

“Blackpool is an amazing destination which still has huge potential for hoteliers with a modern approach. We bring a 21st century outlook combined with traditional values and look forward to being part of the local business community in Blackpool. The business will run as usual, with no break in service.”

Leisure property specialist Fleurets brokered the deal, for which the Henson Hotel’s freehold was marketed off a guide price of £599,000.

Lesley Watmough, Divisional Director based in the North West office of Fleurets added: “This 45 bedroom hotel has proved extremely popular throughout the country, not just in the local market.

“Blackpool has seen major investment in recent years which seems to have added to the resort’s popularity.”

The Joneses owned the building for 11 years.
