SiS to power British triathlon Olympic teams

Science in Sport

Lancashire-based sports nutrition brand Science in Sport has been announced as the official sports nutrition supplier to British Triathlon.

The Nelson-based company will supply British triathletes across both the Olympic and Paralympic National Lottery Funded Programmes, including Tom Bishop, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, Lucy Hall and Alison Patrick.

The supplier deal will see SiS working closely with British triathletes, performance, and nutrition staff.
It will support the Great Britain Triathlon and Paratriathlon teams as they start their journey to Tokyo in 2020, creating bespoke nutritional strategies for the athletes.

Nutrition plans will be tailored for each individual athlete and will include a wide range of SiS products, including the company’s isotonic GO Gels for energy, REGO Rapid Recovery to aid recovery after exercise and WHEY20 protein product.

The deal also means that SiS will be able to engage with a growing audience of over 80,000 triathletes across the event portfolio and the British Triathlon databases.

Stephen Moon, SiS chief executive, said: “We are now official nutrition partner to four national governing bodies around the world and this is testament to the quality of our science and innovation capability, product superiority and our best in class approach to banned substance testing.”

Jack Buckner, British Triathlon Federation’s chief executive, said: “Nutrition is an integral and critical component of every athlete’s success and the SiS world-renowned experts ensure our national teams are in great hands.

“With our elite athletes having the opportunity to work alongside SiS staff to tailor their own plans, and all our members having access to the SiS expertise, we look forward to seeing all our triathletes achieve their very best.”
