Sudlows wins hospital network contract

COMMUNICATIONS and IT infrastructure firm Sudlows has won a contract worth £500,000 to design and install a modern fibre network for the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The hospital requires a complete network refresh across the one square mile site, which will encompass a new Blown Fibre network and structured cabling design combining fibre replacement and physical consolidation in addition to small building refurbishment works.
The investment should help reduce day-to-day technical issues and enhance network security.
Sudlows has already delivered a number of projects for NHS Trusts in the North West.
Darren Stephens, connectivity manager, said: “The new communications network is a commercially and technically advantageous design that will provide long term benefits and ultimately deliver a consistent, responsive business infrastructure, which is currently underway over a multi-phase,19 week roll out”.
Phil Howe, network project manager at the hospital, added: “By simplifying the network design through the project, the Royal Bolton Hospital site will become much easier to manage and help us deliver effective communication, patient care and future IT Projects through a robust future-proof design.”
