MIOC welcomes RBG Energy and World Cargo Logistics
Two new tenants have taken space at a landmark office building close to Manchester Airport following a substantial investment in new facilities.
Four existing occupiers have also renewed leases at the Manchester International Office Centre on Styal Road taking occupancy levels to 95%.
The new tenants are RBG Energy Ltd and World Cargo Logistics Ltd, whilst TGE Gas Engineering, EBV Elektronik, United Airlines and Velfac have extended their occupation.
The investment has created a new café and business lounge, and seen the refurbishment of communal areas within the building. Further investment has been made in a new boiler system to improve energy efficiency and reduce the cost of utilities for tenants.
Liam MacCarthy, from Till AM, which asset manages the investment since its acquisition in 2011, said: “It was already a great looking building and over the last five years we have steadily improved and changed the offer for tenants. The creation of a new café area, the remodelled reception and the business lounge facility complete the improvements and the work has been well received.”
Built in the 1950’s of concrete construction, the building was designed by Ansell and Bailey, the architects of Peter House on Oxford Road, Manchester and was featured in the Architect’s Journal in 1951.
Laid out in five wings MIOC offers a range of suite sizes and stands in six acres of grounds and landscaped gardens allowing for good car parking ratio and the potential to deliver added activities for tenants.
MacCarthy added: “We hold fitness boot camps twice a week on the landscape gardens in front of the building and various other events throughout the year and staff enjoy having access to the green space. Our own company is based here and it is the most peaceful place I have ever worked in.”
Matt Shufflebottom, from joint agents Knight Frank Manchester said: “Under the guidance of Till AM a thriving business community has been created at MIOC.
“The building is well connected by road and public transport and provides vital on-site amenity crucial for attracting and maintaining staff. MIOC ticks all the boxes.”
