Altair - new bouldevard

Images of the proposed second phase of the £70m Altair residential and lifestyle quarter in Altrincham town centre in Greater Manchester have been released.

Regeneration company Nikal’s reserved matters application for phase two of the scheme was submitted earlier this year and will go before Trafford Council’s planning committee next month.

Work on Phase One commenced in January with demolition and enabling works completed to allow for the construction of an iconic building containing 59 high quality apartments and ground floor retail space.

The new visuals, show the detail in Stephenson Studio’s designs for Phase Two of the 4.5-acre development.

Four strikingly original contemporary style buildings will offer a total of eighty five one, two and three-bedroom apartments appealing to a wide range of purchaser buying at all stages of the property ladder.

With an emphasis on quality design and luxury specification, the apartments will create a stylish living experience with balconies and rooftop terraces, say Nikal. They apartments will be delivered by Nikal’s luxury homebuilding arm, Hillcrest Homes.

The residential element is complemented by a new boulevard of cafes, restaurants and bars, together with a luxury office building suitable as an HQ.

The buildings will be set within a stunning new public realm – one of the largest new public spaces to be created in Altrincham.

This central boulevard will link the new quarter directly to the Transport Interchange as well as provide an attractive outdoor environment in which residents, workers, shoppers and diners can relax and socialise.

The regeneration of large town centre site is an integral element of Altrincham’s renaissance as a modern market town with a buoyant evening economy.

A major town centre improvement programme has included significant public realm works, a £19m tram, train and bus Transport Interchange and the restoration of the Market House into a hub for independent enterprise, attracting new restaurants, cafes and artisan retailers.

Gascoigne Halman Altrincham has been appointed as agents on phase one Altair with apartments released on a first come first served basis on Saturday, July 1.
