Housebuilder celebrates bumper £60m of sales

Manchester-based Stewart Milne Homes is targeting further growth in the North West after a buoyant end to its financial year in which it has achieved combined sales of more than £60m.

The independent housebuilder says it has seen strong demand for developments across the region with the volume of new home completions in the North West doubling in the last 12 months from 134 to 268.

To cement this growth and meet demand, the company plans to grow the division to 500 units over the next three years.

It is already eyeing an 11% growth to over 300 units next financial year and has reported more than £20m of forward sales reserved beyond the next quarter.

The company has plans for five new developments over the next 12 months, resulting in the construction of 447 new homes.

North West managing director for Stewart Milne Homes Paul Challinor said: “The North West is a key growth area for the company and we will continue to invest heavily in the region to cement these impressive sales figures.

“The figures reflect an increased market demand for our quality homes, and suggest that despite slowing nationally, the market is continuing to benefit from resilient consumer confidence.

“We have a strong product underpinned by quality, craftsmanship and very high design specifications – all of which have helped us to gain traction in the market and provide a strong platform for growth.

“Over the next 12 months we will work to increase our volume output through the acquisition of larger sites in prime residential locations. We will also drive forward our core Group values which focus on quality homes and a customer centric approach to building and selling homes.”

Stewart Milne Group was recently awarded five-star status by the industry, one of only five major housebuilders in the UK to achieve this accolade.
