Independent regional housebuilder Russell Homes has launched Saltersford Gardens, a nine-acre development in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.

The £25.5m development comprises 93 properties and a children’s play area with green open space just off Macclesfield Road, with a mix of two to five-bedroom house types designed to meet local demand.

The development was designed by MPSL with planning support from Walsingham Planning. Groundworks began at the start of the year and construction is currently underway on the three-and-a-half-year scheme, which is set to be build complete by summer 2020.

As part of the project, highways improvements are being made to Macclesfield Road with a new roundabout installed at its junction with Manor Avenue.

To further improve road safety, a Toucan crossing will be placed at the eastern approach and there will be a new footpath to the village.

The first artists’ impressions have also been unveiled of the different housetypes, along with typical streetscenes showing how the overall development will look, demonstrating the variety of styles and quality of materials being used.

More than 400 people have already registered their interest in the development. Gill Richardson, Russell Homes sales manager, said: “We have been very conscious that this development should deliver a mix of housing which would cater to the demands of different people within the community.

“The inclusion of two-bedroom properties aims to meet the needs of the younger first time buyers and perhaps older downsizers, while the larger homes will provide options for families who need to move up and want to stay in, or come to, this very desirable part of Cheshire.

“Located on the edge of Holmes Chapel, the development is within easy reach of all local amenities, schools, shops, and restaurants.

“This area is increasingly popular and attracts people from across the region, thanks mainly to the semi-rural location, charming local village, excellent links to the nearby M6 and a train station offering a 40-minute commute to Manchester city centre. Although construction is still underway, we’ve already had around 420 people request a brochure and we’re looking forward to welcoming many of them to site over the summer.”

Prices have now been released for the first 10 properties, which are set for completion before the end of the year. These range from £199,995 for a two-bedroom semi to £449,995 for a four-bedroom detached. Help to Buy will be available for all but the largest of the five beds, which are yet to be released for sale. Help to Buy prices will start from £159,996 for a two-bed.
