Caddick gets £4.1m car showroom contract

Caddick Construction has been awarded a £4.1m contract to create a new Kentdale Jaguar Land Rover showroom on the existing car dealership site on the A6 in Kendal, Cumbria

The programme of works will see the existing Jaguar Land Rover showroom on the corner of Shap Road and Gilthwaiterigg Lane significantly updated and extended, to offer additional workshop and showroom space. There will also be substantial external grading and surfacing for customer and staff car parking.

Caddick Construction was awarded the contract by Lakeland Land Rover earlier in the year and work has now begun on the project. The team is scheduled to be on site for 52 weeks with completion due in 2018.

Andrew Murray, managing director at Caddick Construction, said: “It’s great to see that our automotive portfolio continues to flourish and we’re very excited to work with Kentdale Jaguar Land Rover for the first time. The new showroom will be visually impressive in its prominent position on the A6 as well as meeting the expectations of customers.”

Eric Hadwin, director at Lakeland Land Rover, said: “The Hadwin family and staff are looking forward to the finished job and are pleased that Caddick Construction is currently on time and working with us to minimise the disruption to all our customers.”

Caddick Construction and Caddick Civil Engineering are the operational arms of Caddick Group, offering more than 35 years’ experience across a range of market sectors including commercial, education, industrial, leisure, refurbishment, residential, care, retail, mixed use and fit out.

The group employs almost 500 people and its turnover is £90m.
