Angel Meadows

The first two blocks of apartments in a £200m residential development around Angel Meadow on the northern edge of Manchester city centre, are officially launched for sale next week (Thursday, October 12).

The Gate and The Stile, are the two buildings comprising 286 apartments form the initial phase of a landmark scheme that will offer a total of 756 homes for sale across four blocks bordering historic Angel Meadow, one of the largest green spaces in central Manchester.

FEC has named the scheme MeadowSide which reflects the proximity of the development to the historic Angel Meadow Park. The scheme will offer the unique opportunity of city living combined with park life – a rarity in Manchester.

Located on Aspin Lane, the first two blocks rise to 22 and 17-storeys with a total of 286 one, two and three-bed apartments and penthouses, lifestyle facilities for residents including a gym and 24-hour concierge and ground floor commercial space.

Starting prices for the one and two-bed apartments in The Gate and The Stile are £189,950 and £289,950 respectively.

Gavin Taylor, regional general manager at FEC, said: “MeadowSide will breathe new life into the biggest green space in central Manchester by creating a new residential community in the Angel Meadow neighbourhood.

“Angel Meadow is a little-known hidden gem in the city and our development will show people a new side to Manchester by offering a unique opportunity to combine and enjoy the best parts of city and park life.”

On completion, Meadowside will represent a core element of NOMA, the 20-acre neighbourhood extending the city centre of Manchester northwards with a mix of new commercial and residential space.

The development sits on the doorstep of Manchester’s Northern Gateway, an investment partnership between FEC and Manchester City Council to deliver over 10,000 new homes across the north side of central Manchester over the next decade.

The entire project is forecast to generate more than £1bn of investment by unlocking the development potential of more than 300 acres or 13msq ft of land from north of Victoria station through to New Cross, the Lower Irk Valley and Collyhurst.

Appointed agents JLL and Cushman & Wakefield are marketing the first two blocks of MeadowSide with construction expected to start in early 2018.
