Global software company making 196 Deansgate its UK HQ

Global software company Kalibrate Technologies is relocating its UK headquarters to 196 Deansgate in central Manchester.

It has signed a 10-year deal with CEG following a multi-million pound refurbishment of the building.

Kalibrate provides strategic advice, analysis and software for the retail and fuel industries.

Vice president Ian Thompson said: “Kalibrate had a very clear remit when looking for a new office space in Manchester. We wanted a modern, open plan office environment to improve our operational efficiencies.”

CEG investment manager Greg Lacey said: “We have been undertaking a rolling refurbishment to provide modern office suites while unveiling more of the unique historic features within the building.

“As a result, we’ve let more than half of the building since the refurbishment, with only 10,500sq ft of office space remaining.”

Designed by architect Charles Heathcote and constructed in 1904 for the Royal London Friendly Society, the grade II-listed building is a classic example of Edwardian Baroque architecture.

CEG has remodelled the entrance and reception to provide an impressive atrium from the ground to fifth floors, providing contemporary office space with unique heritage features in this striking stone building.

Property agents WHR and Canning O’ Neill continue to market the remaining office space with Cheetham & Mortimer and Hynes Illingworth appointed on the ground floor retail space.
