Major refurb for Northern Quarter hostel complete

Hatters Hostel in the Northern Quarter has opened its doors to reveal a major £750,000 refurbishment.

A total of 15 private rooms with 42” plasma Netflix TVS and 20 dormitory rooms have been added to the Hilton Street property, which welcomes guests from across the globe.

Each dormitory inlcudes privacy panels, reading lights and private lockers along side super-fast, free wi-fi, free breakfast and 24 hour room service.

Karl Kinsella, managing director of family-run Hatters Property, said: “The 14 years has been an incredible journey developing four quality hostels in three fantastic cities.

“We have built a strong relationship with Barclays over past few years and have been extremely impressed by their sector focus as well as their proactivity and willingness to lend. We want a bank for the long-term that supports our aims and ambitions with a relationship team who understand our business.”

The Barclays deal team was led by relationship director Sean Askham.

Through our support, Hatters Property are now taking the business to the next level, investing in their existing portfolio to make their fantastic hostels even better, and fulfilling their ambition to open more Hatters Hostels in other city center locations over the next few years.”
