Hotel and wedding venue goes into administration

A posh hotel and wedding venue in the wealthy Cheshire village of Prestbury has gone into administration.

Arron Kendall and Simon Thomas of London-based Moorfields Advisory have been called into the 23-room Bridge Hotel (Prestbury), next to St Peter’s Church.

Moorfields is now looking for a buyer for the business which has about 40 staff, none of whom have so far lost their jobs.

Joint administrator Kendall said: “The Bridge hotel has been running since 1952 in the heart of Cheshire, but unfortunately fell into financial difficulties earlier this year.

“The hotel has had a good trading history and would be a good purchase for someone wishing to build on the reputation of the existing hotel.”
