You will not see the name of Manchester-based financial planning and wealth management specialist Five Wealth plastered across buses or taxis.

But the company launched little more than a year ago by five directors of another firm in the city is happy with its conservative profile as it closes in already on £425m of assets under management.

From the original five who founded the company on August 1, 2016 – Steve Jordan, Phil Shaw, Steve Hughes, Phillip Dewhurst and Chris Little – the headcount of the company headquartered in Chancery Place on Brown Street has grown to 20.

The company claims to offer a unique service – financial planning and investment.

Jordan explained: “There aren’t many companies that do both financial planning and investment. They usually do one or the other, but we try to do both together, giving equal weight to the two elements.”

Alongside this, the directors say they aim to get to know their clients to create a bespoke offer.

Shaw said: “We get to know our clients. We build bespoke plans and bespoke portfolios for them as individuals, there is a personal touch about what we do. There is nothing off the shelf about what we’re doing.

“ We don’t have many celebrity clients, but we’ve got some very important customers. We’re very much about long term nurturing of relationships.

“Most of our clients own businesses or used to own businesses, are high income professionals and owner managers, and we’re happy with that.”
