Screwfix commits to speculative Stockport development

Sole letting agents Impey & Co has secured an occupier for Southfield Development’s speculative industrial scheme in Bredbury, Stockport.

Screwfix, the UK’s largest multi-channel retailer of trade tools, accessories and hardware products, has committed to the second phase of Southfield 25 totalling 4000 sq ft having agreed a 10 year lease.

Southfield 25 on Ashton Road, Bredbury, comprises 10 trade counter unit totalling 40,000 sq ft and can accommodate requirements units from 4,000 sq ft to 16,000 sq ft. The unit is due to be ready for occupation next month.

The letting to Screwfix follows the announcement last month that half of the first phase of the scheme, comprising 8,500 sq ft has been let to national vehicle van hire operator, Northgate Plc, which took a 15-year lease.

Michael Blackshaw of Impey & Co said: “Southfield 25 occupies a prime location benefiting from main road frontage and with excellent access to the principal arterial roads serving Stockport, the M60 and beyond.

“It is no surprise that this quality scheme has generated significant interest from national trade counter operators and we already have two further units currently under offer.”
