Homebird Interiors spreads its wings with latest store launch

Homebird Interiors has opened its latest furniture store in Heswall, the company’s fourth site to open across the North West in nine years.

Homebird Interiors is run by two sisters, Miriam Templeton and Darrell Whittaker. They purchased their first site in Wilmslow in 2008 and have grown the business across Altrincham and Cheadle Hulme with their latest store opening in the vibrant town of Heswall.

The latest venture in Heswall is already reporting positive sales figures with a predicted turnover expected to reach £2.5-£3m at year end for all four stores.

Nine staff have been recruited as a result of the opening, taking the total headcount to 35 employees across the group.

Templeton said: “So far the interest has been incredible and our sales figures reflect this. October is always a busy month for us anyhow as our customers like to receive their furniture and accessories in time for the festive season, coupled with us offering something new and different to the local community, we couldn’t be more pleased.”

An undisclosed funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland has assisted the company to expand the business.

Michele Fynan, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “I’ve known Miriam and Darrell for many years now and feel very proud at what they continue to achieve. They are a local business doing really well and have an incredible eye for detail with regards to securing the right premises and maximising every opportunity. I am sure Heswall will serve them well and provide an exciting future.”
