Sigma, the private rented sector residential development and regeneration specialist is donating up to £50,000 to local charities and schools near its PRS schemes.

The company, with offices in Manchester, Edinburgh and London, is giving the money as part of its corporate social responsibility ambitions for 2018.

It will spread the money across five schools in Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Salford, Sheffield and Greater Manchester.

Chief executive Graham Barnet said: “We are tremendously excited about working with a number of schools close to some of the new homes we have developed, or are in the process of developing.

“We strongly believe that good homes, together with good schools, can help communities to thrive, and we want to play our part in fostering an environment in which families can flourish.

“We will be looking to work closely with schools to identify how our contribution can best benefit each of them individually, whether for books, educational materials, PE equipment or school trips. We can’t wait to get this initiative underway.”
