Political journalist to host Business Masters Awards 2018

Political journalist Nina Warhurst has been confirmed as the host of the Business Masters Awards 2018.

Warhurst presents the Sunday Politics show in the North West, where she is the BBC’s political editor.

The experienced journalist will join TheBusinessDesk.com’s Alex Turner in presenting the awards at the dinner which takes place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday, April 19.

Warhurst said: “I’m delighted to have been invited back to host the Business Masters Awards. It’s always a great opportunity to celebrate the dynamic range of businesses and ideas across our amazing region.

“As the BBC’s new national business correspondent based in the North, it’s an exciting chance to hear about what’s in store for the year ahead, and raise a glass to what’s been achieved.”

Judges this year will include the editor of TheBusinessDesk.com Alex Turner, managing director of marketing agency MC2 Claire Tennant, Lou Cordwell, the founder and chief executive of digital design studio MagneticNorth, Colin Shenton, the founder of workspace provider Ziferblat – the winner of the 2017 Innovation Award, Paul Griffiths, chairman of The Monastery of St Francis & Gorton Trust, which runs The Monastery community facility at Gorton, Manchester, and Neil Worsley managing partner of Convex Capital, our headline sponsor.

Lloyds Bank will also sponsor the International Trade category.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday, 2nd February 2018.
