Independent café company The Know Group has opened a second Love Thy Neighbour venue after establishing its first outlet in Liverpool city centre.

Backed by a £70,000 investment from MSIF, the company is launching the restaurant in the popular Chorlton area of Manchester.

Love Thy Neighbour was established on Liverpool’s Bold Street in 2016, founded on the principle of healthy eating within an ambient, welcoming and holiday-style setting.

The café grew from strength to strength, opening for breakfast, lunch and dinner, selling popular dishes including its famous Smoothie Bowls and Chickpea Pancakes.

The Chorlton café launched in December is open from noon to midnight every day, and sells a range of dishes including brunch, skewers and snacks, and their unique Buddha Bowls.

Love Thy Neighbour Chorlton has seven staff.

Steven Hesketh, Know Group chief executive, said: “Chorlton has been the perfect fit for Love Thy Neighbour – a true bohemian subculture with a healthy mix of style and substance. We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from the close-knit community here since we opened and with plans for lots of collaborations and events 2018 looks like it will be a very fun year for our second venue.”

Andy Jones, MSIF investment manager, said: “It has been great to work with the Love Thy Neighbour team – they understand their unique brand and offering, which has led to their success.”
