Plans submitted for second phase of Satellite Park scheme in Oldham

A planning application has been submitted for a new speculative industrial and leisure scheme at Chadderton in Oldham totalling 120,000 sq ft in size.

Industrial developer Chancerygate will be working with Royal London to bring forward the former BAE car park site at Greengate.

It will be the planned second phase of its successful Satellite Park scheme. Chancerygate is currently on site building a new 60,000 sq ft parcel distribution unit that has been pre-let to DPD on a 25-year lease.

The second phase of the scheme comprises a high profile single unit of 64,360 sq ft that overlooks the M60 and then eight further units ranging from 2,850 sq ft to 8,365 sq ft. There will also be a 1.3 acre plot fronting Greengate suitable for a variety of leisure and roadside uses.

Mike Walker, development director for Chancerygate, said it would be the company’s fourth scheme with Royal London.

He went on: “Bringing this site forward further demonstrates our confidence in the continued strength of the SME and urban logistics market.

“There is a genuine lack of supply of modern space with good access to the M60 and Manchester city centre and this development will address both those issues.

“Chancerygate is currently delivering over 1.7 million sq ft of development across the UK in 20 schemes and we are delighted to add Satellite Park 2 to that pipeline.”

Hourigan Connolly is the appointed planning consultants and Fletcher Rae is the architects. CBRE and B8RE are the retained letting agents.
