Party entertainment firm expands to Aintree site

Party entertainment and marquee hire company Aladdin’s Cave is geared up for business growth after moving into new premises on Hanson Road in Aintree and winning a national award.

The company, which is in its third year of trading, saw a significant rise in sales when it invested in a new range of marquees from UK marquee and gazebo manufacturer Gala Tent.

Aladdin’s Cave owner Stephen Roberts recognised that the business needed a permanent base and storage area, so decided to move the business to its own purpose-built premises, from smaller premises in nearby Orrell Park.

The 1,500 sq ft unit, which consists of warehousing, a small showroom and a dance studio, is open to customers five days a week.

Customers can call in to discuss their marquee hire and party entertainment requirements and view the marquees and other products for hire. The business has now expanded to having three permanent staff and brings in seasonal staff at busy times.

The company was recently crowned winner of the prestigious Wedding Awards’ Northern England Region ‘DJ & Entertainment Services’.

This was held at the Epstein Theatre in Liverpool, with Aladdin’s Cave beating off strong competition from entertainment companies from across the whole of the UK.

Mr Roberts said: “It’s really exciting to move into these new premises.

“We’ve expanded quite a bit in the past 12 months and needed a dedicated storage area and also a dance studio for our entertainers.

“We have completely refurbished the premises and it looks great now so we’re looking forward to welcoming customers who are interested in discussing our party packages or viewing our marquees.”

He added: “Winning the best DJ & Entertainments services award really is the icing on the cake.

“We’ve offered DJ and marquee hire for weddings for a while now, but with the boost we’ve had from winning the Wedding Awards, we’re really looking forward to developing this side of the business even further.”

In 2017 Aladdin’s Cave invested in three marquees from Gala Tent. Mr Roberts explained: “We had lots of enquiries from people looking for a suitable marquee to hire for garden parties – in most cases they just want someone to take care of everything, such as set up, flooring, lighting and heating.

“We also had a really busy Christmas period and could have hired out at least 20 marquees.”

Last year the company also expanded its range of inflatables, which now includes a 50ft-long inflatable assault course, a 15ft-high mega slide and 15 x 15ft adult bouncy castle.

The company is also the Liverpool Champion for Autism Together and staff are trained in autism awareness, with the ability to promote an autism-friendly environment.
