Final call for entries to Salford Business Awards

ORGANISERS of the third annual Salford Business Awards are making their final call for entries to this year’s awards.

The awards, organised by Salford City Council, the University of Salford and Chapel Street Business Group, were established to give Salford businesses the recognition they deserve and reflect the city’s strong history of innovation.

TheBusinessDesk is the official media partner for the event and will be covering the awards night, as well as profiling some of the winning businesses.

There are eight categories for the awards: the overall Business of the Year Award, Innovation Award, Technology Award, Excellence Award, Green Award, Community Award, International Trade Award, and the Entrepreneur Award. The deadline for entry is January 29.

The main sponsor of this year’s event has been announced as TalkTalk Technology.

Clive Dorsman, managing director of TalkTalk Technology, said: “TalkTalk Technology first starting trading in Irlam in 1981 and is delighted to sponsor these awards, which are committed to the region and showcase business success.

“In the past three years we’ve built the UK’s largest next generation network and helped TalkTalk Group to become the second largest broadband provider in the UK. In today’s tough economic climate it’s important to help recognise those businesses across the City that lead from the front and inspire others.”

This year’s ceremony will take place at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on April 15, 2010.
