Plans approved for Beehive Business Park which could create 300 jobs
Manchester based HOW Planning has successfully secured full planning approval for the redevelopment of a 3.25ha allocated site in Ulverston in the Lake District.
Developer Rawdon Property Group plans to transform the site into an extensive employment-led, mixed use development.
The application for Beehive Business Park was submitted to South Lakeland District Council and approval paves the way for a premium employment location that will deliver wide-ranging benefits, including securing more than 300 jobs.
Planning permission has been granted for the creation of employment units, two retail foodstore units for occupiers Aldi and a Marks & Spencer Food Hall, a veterinary practice unit, and the creation of new internal roads and car parking areas, as well as new landscaping.
HOW carried out an extensive pre-application consultation exercise with the local community and South Lakeland District Council for the scheme which is just off the A590 and located next to to Cumbria County Council’s ‘Blue Light Hub’, currently under construction.
The site comprises part allocated employment land, which is also home to the Hub, and an additional portion of unallocated land which has been secured to maximise the opportunities for employment.
