International law firm Hill Dickinson has advised Manchester property developer Qualis Residential Developments on a significant £20m scheme.

The new residential-led development is in Sheffield and Hill Dickinson advised on the acquisition of the land at Chatham Street and secured the development finance facility for the Great Central project.

Qualis is focused on designing and building residential property schemes in northern cities.

The firm is a strategic partner of Knight Knox, a Manchester-based property developer and consultancy specialising in city centre residential property markets.

Great Central is Qualis Residential Developments’ first project.

The nine-storey residential scheme comprises 131 apartments, with a gross development value in the region of £20m.

It is considered to be one of the biggest residential housing schemes in Sheffield, rejuvenating the area and generating employment opportunities for the local community.

Darren Hamer, partner in the Manchester property team at Hill Dickinson, led the project, supported by Alasdair Mackinnon, partner in the banking practice, corporate associate James Down, and trainee solicitor Olivia Jones.

Mr Hamer said: “This is an exciting development to have been involved in as Qualis Residential Developments looks to regenerate the area near the Kelham Island district of Sheffield, creating desirable new homes and employment in the local area.

“The project draws on Hill Dickinson’s experience of advising on some of the largest property transactions in the North West, supported by the breadth of expertise across the firm.”
