Landmark Manchester building attracts engineering firm following £16m refurb

Design, engineering and environmental consultancy Ramboll has relocated its 60-strong team to the landmark Arkwright House in Manchester city centre.

The firm has signed a 10-year lease on 7,000 sq ft of space at the Grade II listed building which has recently undergone a £16m refurbishment.

Mathew Riley, managing director for Ramboll, said: “Arkwright House was the natural choice for our new Manchester base and reflects our continued growth and investment in the area.

“The project team for our move, managed by Colliers International, has worked hard to understand our requirements as a business and cater for the needs of our people, creating an environment which will support the productivity and growth of our business.”

Jonathan Stirzaker-Philips, project manager at Colliers International, added: “Working closely with Ramboll and interior designers, Paragon, we oversaw the creation of a space with a ‘Scandi-cool’ aesthetic which fits perfectly with Ramboll’s Scandinavian heritage and the energy of their local team.”
