Jaguar Land Rover’s new Manchester home is revealed

Bruntwood's Neo

Property group Bruntwood has agreed a deal to bring Britain’s biggest car manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover, to Neo in central Manchester.

The vehicle manufacturing giant will be opening a new software, IT and engineering centre in Manchester city centre.

It has taken the last two remaining floors at the 12-storey building, which Bruntwood says offers a distinctive collaborative environment for forward-thinking businesses.

Jaguar Land Rover’s new office space will span 9,464 sq ft occupying the whole 10th and 11th floors of the building on the corner of Portland Street and Charlotte Street.

The 10th floor will house Jaguar Land Rover’s engineering team, while its IT department will take up the 11th floor.

Home to a diverse mix of businesses and entrepreneurs, Jaguar Land Rover joins a growing community of digital innovation and cutting-edge businesses at Neo, such as Peak, a data analytics company which uses AI, Hilson Moran, Godel Technologies and global technology giant, Microsoft.

Bradley Topps of Bruntwood, Manchester, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Jaguar Land Rover to Neo.

“As an innovative technology business with high aspirations for growth they are perfectly suited to a place, purposely-designed to inspire creative thinking and collaborative working.”

Jaguar Land Rover announced its plans to set up its Manchester operation two days ago.

It said a small team will pioneer new software technology to help create the next generation of future connected car technologies.

In addition, it will work on a range of mobility services and developing new technology features on future Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

Nick Rogers, executive director of product engineering, said: “As the automotive industry continues to embrace autonomous, connected and electrified technologies, Jaguar Land Rover remains committed to engineering innovative software that will make our customers’ lives better, by creating premium in-car experiences that they love.

“With the Manchester team supporting the creation of connected car technology, the new centre is a fantastic opportunity for us to keep pushing the boundaries towards seamless connectivity, with disruptive technical solutions, and I look forward to welcoming our new colleagues into our product engineering team.”
