Marriott Airport Hotel undertaking multi-million pound refurb
Marriott UK is welcoming a new direction for its Manchester Airport hotel, with a multi-million pound refurbishment.
Located less than two miles away from Manchester Airport, the global group’s Hale property is looking to reposition itself as a destination hotel, shifting any perceptions of it as a ‘typical’ airport hotel, to an aspirational setting where people are excited to visit, meet, stay, dine and spa.
The aim is to create a unique destination among the hotel’s competitors by upgrading all 215 spacious bedrooms, landscaping outdoor areas, creating a new open plan reception area, modernising its conferencing and social banqueting facilities and offering a completely new business lounge, as well as a brand new restaurant.
Rav Khangura, Marriott Airport Hotel manager, said: “Our hotel is more than a necessity stay over for business and leisure travellers – the investment will help us create a totally new experience for our guests.
“The North west, and Manchester in particular, is home to a number of fantastic large and boutique hotels, but none of them are able to offer the feeling of space that we can, so close to a global transport hub like Manchester Airport.
“Thanks to our bars, health club and onsite eateries, we offer a range of desirable facilities, and this renovation aims to secure our position as the number one hotel in its area.”
He added: “Which other hotel in this area can offer two onsite signature restaurants, with top brands such as San Carlo?
“We offer businesses, leisure travellers, and the local community a unique experience, in a great location.”
The renovation process is well under way, with all bedrooms now completely refurbished with new furnishings and technology.
The completed project will be launched in September.
