Luxury apartments launched at top Manchester city centre address

The Lightwell in St Ann's Square

Manchester-based estate agency Thornley Groves is about to launch 21 luxury apartments on behalf of DTZ Investors in the heart of the city centre, at St Ann’s Square.

The £6m private rented sector (PRS) scheme has been named The Lightwell, after the large enclosed lightwell that forms a central communal enclosure within the development.

The vision was one of the key features created by architects, apt. Design, and allows natural light and air to flood throughout the building.

Rising to the height of three stories, the lightwell is surrounded by original brick and incorporates a seating area that is complemented by live plants and trees to make for a safe, secure and attractive environment within the development.

This development sits among other high quality schemes in the area such as Manera and No.8 King Street, both of which Thornley Groves successfully launched for sales purposes while maintaining a continued rental and management presence.

Sales and marketing director for Thornley Groves, Matthew Smith, said: “The Lightwell is a high quality bespoke development located in an idyllic and prominent part of Manchester city centre.

“Fusing original features with a luxury finish, the converted apartments are striking in character and have a very Mancunian feel.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with DTZ Investors and apt. Design to deliver this scheme.

“Our new homes division were involved in the development from the early stages of design and were able to offer our services to advise on a number of aspects throughout the development.”

He added: “DTZ took this advice on board and have created 21 fantastic homes that provide stunning accommodation for tenants to enjoy while living in the city.”

Established in 1991 from a single estate agency branch in Altrincham, Thornley Groves now has nine offices and employs more than 120 staff.

Annually, it sells more than 750 properties, lets in excess of 2,000 properties and manages around 3,000 houses and apartments across North, South and Central Manchester.

In 2016 Thornley Groves launched a new homes division dedicated to developers.

Their range of services include advice on the latest market trends, estimated sales and rental values, and marketing and disposal strategies.
