KPMG opts for One St Peter’s Square

ACCOUNTANCY firm KPMG has revealed that it has plumped for the 270,000 sq ft One St Peter’s Square building as the preferred site for its new 65,000 sq ft Manchester headquarters.

The deal will provide the size able pre-let which One St Peter’s Square’s joint venture developers Argent and GMPVF will need to get development work at the site under way.

The scheme, which has been designed by Glen Howells Architects on the site of the former Elisabeth House building in St Peter’s Square,  already has planning approval from Manchester City Council.

A KPMG spokesman said that although a formal deal had yet to be signed, the firm was “in advanced discussions with Argent and GMPVF over One St Peter’s Square, which is our preferred option”.

“We expect to make a further announcement in the coming weeks,” he added.

Other sites which had been on the shortlist for KPMG’s proposed headquarters included Ask Developments’ Exchange Greengate site and Allied London’s Spinningfields development.
