Salford Quays £50m build-to-rent scheme tops out

Developer Glenbrook has reached the highest point of construction at Erie Basin, its £50m build-to-rent (BTR) scheme in Salford Quays.
Glenbrook met with Salford Council, its funding partner Moorfield Group, main contractor Graham Construction, architect Sheppard Robson and cost consultant Abacus on the 15th floor to celebrate this construction milestone.
Acquired from the Peel Group, the site is the last remaining plot to be developed at Erie Basin.
Located in a prominent position overlooking the Quays, the 220,000 sq ft development will accommodate 270 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Residents will benefit from enhanced ground floor amenity space including a tenant lounge and a gym, together with a private elevated garden terrace overlooking Erie Basin.
Undercroft car parking is provided at ground level.
The site also benefits from excellent transport links, with the Harbour City tram stop directly on the doorstep.
Speaking about Erie Basin, Stuart McCrone, projects director at Glenbrook, said: “On schedule to complete in Summer next year, we are bringing an exceptional product to an already high-quality destination that is improving day-by-day.
“The performance of the project team has been exemplary and, once complete, Erie Basin will raise the bar for BTR accommodation in Salford Quays.”
Gary Hughes, Graham regional director, added: “Erie Basin will provide a number of fantastic apartments for those looking to live in Salford Quays and we’re proud to have worked closely with Glenbrook to deliver this new landmark for the area.
“Close collaboration between all stakeholders is absolutely key to realising large-scale projects such as these – and taking that collaborative approach has allowed us to deliver this scheme efficiently, while developing our relationships with all involved in the project.
“We’re looking forward to the apartments becoming great homes for people looking to live and work in the North West. Salford Quays is a prime spot and it’s a tremendously exciting time to be in the region.”
