London success sparks major growth for Cheshire firm
A Knutsford-based provider of intelligent technologies and home automation solutions has announced strong progress on turnover growth, which has fuelled a recruitment drive.
Intecho has reported 30% year-on-year growth with sales hitting £2m, as it capitalises on the exploding Internet of Things (IoT) movement.
And to meet the overwhelming demand, the firm has also expanded its team, with the creation of five engineering and project support posts.
With the IoT market predicted to be worth £81bn to the UK’s economy by 2020, Intecho has established itself as a leading supplier of smart technologies to some of the UK’s most exclusive and high-profile hospitality venues, including The Ivy, Sexy Fish Restaurant and Annabel’s night club.
Paul Murphy, director and co-founder at Intecho, said: “As the reality of smart homes and buildings becomes tangible, we’re seeing unprecedented demand from the hospitality sector as it too looks to deliver the intelligent and reactive environment consumers are increasingly expecting.

Founded in 2010 by Paul Murphy and Ben Patterson, Intecho specialises in custom-built lighting and building control systems and has completed a raft of prestigious contracts in the London hospitality market and beyond.
Projects have included bringing to life the vision of the internationally-acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, providing smart lighting systems to enhance artworks at private club Annabel’s and Sexy Fish Restaurant, both in London’s Mayfair, and installing lighting that can be dimmed for individual tables at Covent Garden restaurant The Ivy.
In addition to its London-based work, Intecho has completed projects with the Motel One chain, including two in Manchester and one in Glasgow, which has since become the city’s largest hotel.
Intecho is also working on a number of large-scale residential projects, as well as the refurbishment of Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa on Lake Windermere.
