Preston-based planning consultancy PWA Planning has made two new appointments.

The firm has recruited Matthew Wyatt as a senior planner and Joe Davis as a graduate planner.

The appointments come two months after PWA recruited former Preston City Council director of development Alison Gough. The latest additions take staff numbers at PWA to 14.

Paul Walton, director of PWA Planning, said: “We want to continue providing an effective and efficient planning service for our clients. That means bringing in people to give us the right mix of skills, as well as building capacity in the team.

“Matthew has been in the planning industry for over 10 years so brings bags of experience. Joe is another talented individual who can bring a fresh perspective to the business and build a great career with us.”

Matthew, a chartered town planner, joins PWA Planning after 10 years with Lancaster-based planning consultancy JWPC where he worked on a wide variety of projects across the North West.

Joe, a geography graduate, has embarked on a career in planning after two years working for accountancy giant KPMG in Manchester, as well as a spell working as an English tutor in China.

PWA Planning was founded by Paul Walton in 2013.

Major clients include international forecourts operator EG Group, energy storage business Harmony Energy, housebuilders including Mulbury, Anwyl Homes, Altin Homes, McDermott Homes and Story Homes, as well as various NHS Trusts.

“Roxtec UK is investing heavily to capitalise on major opportunities we have identified across specific markets in the UK and internationally,” he said.

“These new appointments increase our full time staff base by almost 25% sending a strong message to the marketplace about our desire to grow.

“Nuclear and process industries are key markets for Roxtec UK. We’ve experienced strong demand in recent years working with EDF Energy to safeguard equipment at the Dungeness B nuclear power station.

“Internationally, we have supplied the HABOG nuclear interim storage plant in the Netherlands, as well as a number of nuclear sites in China.

“Domestically, the market looks positive with the UK Government likely to continue investing in nuclear over the next 20 to 30 years. We are keen to build on that momentum, engaging with more contractors, designers, engineers and other stakeholders.”

He added: “Roxtec UK is also building a strong track record in the rail sector offering complete design and engineering services through to installation training and inspection support.

“Our work in the Original Equipment Manufacturing sector covers cabinets, generators and turbines, robotics, rolling stock, trackside equipment and vehicles.

“The Roxtec Group has been highly successful penetrating more than 80 markets across the world with our innovative solutions since 1990. Our UK operation is fortunate to be backed by a large international network of more than 750 staff and 27 subsidiaries enabling on the ground support for overseas projects.”
