Horse lovers’ family home with huge potential offered in online auction

A nine-bedroomed character property on the outskirts of Lowton, near Warrington, is expected to sell for more than £1.5m with SDL Auctions in an online auction live now.

Five Acres, in Kenyon Lane, is a private gated equestrian property on a site of approximately five acres.

It is being sold by SDL Auctions online in partnership with agent Rutter Green.

Diane Wilde, director at Rutter Green, said: “This impressive property offers massive potential for development, business and equestrian interests.

“The site measures around 15,000 sq ft with land available for development which has the potential to provide access with a sweeping driveway to an area large enough for up to seven detached properties, subject to planning permission.”

Currently, the house and gardens occupy approximately one acre of the whole site and look out over the remaining land and equestrian facilities.

The equestrian facilities include a stable block with nine individual 12ftx9ft stables, a manege, the area in which horses and riders are trained, hard standing of about 2,138 sq m, and a further four acres of land with two 24ftx18ft field shelters and various outbuildings.

The house itself has nine bedrooms with accommodation spread over three floors, with five reception rooms and two kitchens.

There is also a large basement area with various sized rooms, a large garage with space for three or four cars and parking available for several vehicles.

Jason Lee, national sales manager at SDL Auctions, said: “The house has many original and period features with high ceilings, stained glass windows, wood panelling, and while it requires some modernisation now, Five Acres offers a unique opportunity to buy a large, stunning detached home to renovate to your own specifications.”

A section of the property is currently being utilised as a bed and breakfast business.

The property is being offered online and bidding will close on Friday, December 12, at 12 noon.
