Accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP and RGL Forensics, a global financial investigations firm, have come together to create a global forensic accounting practice.

As part of the integration, RGL Forensics has rebranded as BTVK Advisory LLP in the UK, with all other RGL offices rebranding as Baker Tilly.

BTVK Advisory remains one of the largest single firms in the UK focused on financial investigations.

It will continue to work alongside its worldwide team of 22 partners and approximately 140 accountants, consultants and forensic technologists to lead investigations in the insurance, legal and corporate markets for global corporations and perform comprehensive investigations of data and events.

The demand for forensic accounting services is increasing globally and this transaction further enhances the firm’s ability to offer clients forensic, litigation and valuations services.

Angela MacPhee, partner and head of the global forensics practice at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause and former chief executive of RGL, said: “We are proud to be the first firm with a global presence focused solely on forensic accounting to join with Baker Tilly.

“This is an affirmation of the growing importance of financial investigation practitioners. Being part of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause gives us critical mass and access to an even larger international network.

“We now have greater resources to invest in ensuring future-focused agility and longevity. We look forward to continuing to provide our clients with the high-level service that they have received over the past 20 years under the RGL brand and offering even greater value in the future.”

Keith Tuffin, partner BTVK Advisory, added: “As a Baker Tilly Virchow Krause company, we look forward to serving our clients with a wider platform and a larger number of delivery channels.

“We will continue to deliver outstanding service to our clients with access to a greater number of industry experts with the local knowledge needed to conduct our investigations.”
