Liverpool has been voted the best staycation break for 2019 by travel website Travelzoo.

Travelzoo collates the best travel and entertainment deals into one place on the web and has chosen Liverpool as one of its key places to visit next year.

The travel specialist has released a list of destinations where it anticipates tremendous travel value for consumers in the coming year by analysing travel trends and destination offerings.

Head of marketing at Travelzoo, Glyn Owen, explained: “Our deal destination list is a guide to the places that Travelzoo believe will have the best value offering for visitors in 2019.

“With so much to see within our own borders we’ve chosen Liverpool as our must-see ‘staycation’ destination.

“The home of The Beatles has something for everyone and expertly highlights modern culture whilst not forgetting its heritage.”

Liverpool is set to continue the success of 2018, a landmark year which saw the city celebrate 10 years since being crowned European Capital of Culture, with a range of key events and new attractions throughout 2019.

Chris Brown, director of Marketing Liverpool said: “Liverpool always proves to be a popular destination for visitors so it’s great to be acknowledged.

“We receive excellent feedback from the many tourists who choose Liverpool as a city break destination and visitors can be assured of a warm welcome in the UK’s friendliest city.”

He added: “2018 was a major year for us, but we’ve got no intention of slowing down in the coming year.

“With major attractions such as Strawberry Fields and Royal Liver Building 360 set to open this year, along with standout events such as the Bordeaux Wine Festival and Netball World Cup, there has never been a better time to visit Liverpool.”

Liverpool’s visitor offering continues to grow with new attractions joining an already impressive list of tourist attractions, including Royal Albert Dock, The Beatles Story and National Museums Liverpool.
