New letting at Mere Grange St Helens

Mere Grange Business Park

Mere Grange Business Park, a modern office development in St Helens providing 47,000 sq ft of office space across 10 buildings, has recently attracted new occupier Assist Group to the estate who have taken 3,090 sq ft.

Real estate investment company Squarestone Growth acquired the business park last year from Network Space.

The estate has since received a re-brand, and newly-appointed commercial agents BE Group and B1 Real Estate.

Simon Roddam, of commercial agency BE Group, said: “The St Helens office market has remained active for some time now, with existing local occupiers and start-ups providing the lion’s share of demand.

“We have seen a particular demand at Mere Grange from occupiers seeking to make a progressive relocation to better quality office accommodation, reflecting a modern business park image.”

He added: “Assist Group are an established facilities management business who were already operating from St Helens servicing the region.

“Attracting Assist Group is testament to the quality of the buildings at Mere Grange and its closely linked position to the M62.”

Squarestone Growth founding partner Paul Coulter said: “We are delighted to welcome Assist Group to Mere Grange.

“The letting fits with our strategy of investing in high-quality modern offices in strong locations in order to attract an excellent calibre of tenants.

“Since opening an office in Manchester in 2018 we have invested £82m in the North between Liverpool and Leeds.

“With impressive transport links, a highly-educated talent pool and high-quality real estate, the North offers excellent investment opportunities.

“Since acquiring Mere Grange at St Helens in February 2018, with a 30% vacancy, we are delighted to have let, or placed under offer, the majority of the vacant accommodation with just one suite remaining and we look forward to seeking more opportunities in the region in 2019.”

Dave Dargan chief executive of Assist Group, said: “Our central offices have been in St Helens since 2010, as well as a large regional operations centre in nearby Eccleston. We are really pleased that we have been able to select a suitable location for our Assist Hub within St Helens and to continue to create jobs and invest in the local community.

“The Hub will be focused on providing industry-leading customer care and responsive services for our customers, as well as working to support our people across the UK and Ireland in delivering great services.”
