350 jobs to be created at Manchester call centre

Around 350 jobs are being created at a new call centre in Manchester.

The jobs are being created by Ago Outsourcing and will be based at a call centre in Trafford which opens in April.

The an initial appointments will be 80 energy sales advisors with the total reaching 350 over the next few months.

The new centre will carry out sales calls for ScottishPower and it is being opened as part of Ago’s national expansion plans.

Last year the company announced it was creating more than 700 jobs across their Glasgow and Newcastle sites.

The firm is now looking to open further call centres around the country, with Manchester the next location.

Stephen Rafferty, chief operations officer at Ago Outsourcing, said: “We already have a large presence in Scotland and Newcastle and have very aggressive plans to continue the growth throughout the UK.

“Manchester has always been a prime location for contact centres and after considering a few locations we agreed Manchester would be the perfect venue for our next centre.”

The majority of the positions will be sales roles, however positions will also be created within the back office operations, quality and compliance, customer Service, HR, team management and administration.

Kris McGenily, chief executive officer at the firm added: “I’m looking forward to bringing Ago to the people of Manchester, and letting them see what a state of the art sales contact centre should look like, it’s exciting for all of us and I’m sure this will be an excellent addition to our portfolio ”

Ago Outsourcing are looking to continue their expansion across the UK and expect to announce further sites later in the year.

They are holding a recruitment open day on Saturday February 23 at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground between 9am – 5pm.
