City centre office move will facilitate consultancy’s growth

Ridge and Partners have exchanged contracts on new offices in the heart of Manchester’s business district to help accommodate the firm’s continued growth.

The Greengate-based property and consultancy consultancy has agreed to lease 4,431 sq ft of space on the fifth floor at Belvedere House, on Booth Street, under assignment from GCA Altium.

The office move is pencilled in for early May. The firm’s current space, in the Abito building, extends to 3,600 sq ft.

The move will allow the growing practice to accommodate 50 members of staff while providing enhanced client facilities, said partner Chris Bradburn.

“We’re delighted with the move as it will allow us to accommodate new recruits across our range of disciplines.

“Growth is coming across the board and it is important that we provide staff and clients with a comfortable and efficient working environment.”

The Manchester office is currently advising Ask on its Embankment and First Street projects; Dandara on Chapel Wharf; and Transport for Greater Manchester and Stockport MBC on their town centre action plan for Stockport.

“Manchester is cementing its position as Britain’s second city and the sheer breadth of work we have demonstrates that infrastructure investment is across the board.

“It bodes well for the city’s competitiveness over the next decade,” added Mr Bradburn.

Ridge’s headcount across its Manchester and Liverpool offices extends to 100 when contract staff are taken in to account.

Nationwide, the firm has more than 600 permanent staff advising clients across a range of disciplines, including architecture, building services engineering, building surveying, expert witness and advisory services, health and safety, project management and quantity surveying.

The landlord at Belvedere House is WestInvest, who were represented by Eversheds Sutherland on the legals, with OBI acting in an agency capacity.

Ridge and Partners were advised by Mark Worthington at Worthington Owen and Brookstreet Des Roches on the legals.
