Next phase of development begins at industrial park
Cheshire Green Industrial Park has been granted reserved matters consent to deliver a new spinal road which will provide the main access to the 150-acre employment site.
Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK has been appointed as main contractor to undertake this latest phase of works, which commence next month.
In parallel with the road, the developer, Cheshire Green Employment Park (CGEP), is in advanced talks with a number of occupiers in relation to the frontage sites.
The announcement comes after Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership provided a £3.2m facility from its Growing Places Fund to unlock the first phase of development at Cheshire Green
Located at Wardle, off the A51, adjacent to the existing NWF Group Headquarters and the established Green Lane Industrial Estate, Cheshire Green has outline planning consent for 1.35 million sq ft of industrial accommodation.
Speaking about this latest phase of works, Phillip Posnett, director of CGEP, said: “We are committed to creating a major employment destination here at Cheshire Green.
“Having been granted consent, we will waste no time in delivering this access which will completely open up the site.
“The funding and ongoing support from Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has been invaluable and will allow us to progress without delay.”
Matthew Pochin, director at Legat Owen, joint agents for the scheme with Fisher German, said: “Demand for space in Crewe is at an all-time high and with limited development coming forward, the infrastructure works will undoubtedly act as a catalyst for further interest in the scheme.
“We look forward to announcing completion on some of the land sales in the coming weeks.”

“The LEP is committed to bringing forward new development, with the Growing Places Fund set up to unlock opportunities and provide valuable gap-finance for large-scale investments such as Cheshire Green.
“We are delighted that Phase 1 of the scheme is now under way, in turn supporting achievement of our region’s ambitious growth targets.”
Cheshire Green is six miles from Crewe and 15 miles from Chester.
The A51 provides excellent links south to junction 16 on the M6 and north to Warrington, the M56 and junction 20 on the M6, as well as Chester and North Wales.
Available on either a freehold or leasehold basis, Cheshire Green is offering plots ranging from one, up to 20 acres, and will all be fully-serviced.
